Academic & Admissions Strategy for Grades 8–12
At Pathways by Design, we provide high-touch academic pathway planning and admissions strategy for students and families who want clarity and results — organized by grade, so you always know exactly where your child stands and what's next. Our approach draws on decades of experience in guidance, curriculum development, and classroom teaching, so every plan is grounded in how students actually learn and succeed.
Whether the goal is a strong Ontario pathway, a competitive US or Ivy League application, or — for our student-athlete families — NCAA, NAIA, or USports eligibility alongside academics, every plan is built around one thing: the right next step, not the hardest one. As former national-team athletes ourselves, we also understand firsthand what it takes to balance high-level training with academics.

Setting the foundation before high school gets complicated.
Who it's for: students starting high school, families choosing between schools or programs, and anyone who wants a confident start instead of a rushed one.
What we do: school and program selection, Grade 9+ course strategy, early academic habits, and initial profile development — identifying strengths and direction from the outset.
Outcome: a course plan built around the student, not guesswork — and early clarity that prevents Grade 12 panic.
-
Turning early interests into direction.
Who it's for: students refining their course path, families beginning to explore post-secondary or athletic options, and anyone who wants momentum before Grade 11–12 pressure hits.
What we do: course alignment with academic and athletic goals, early post-secondary exploration (Canadian, US, and NCAA/NAIA/USports pathways), pathway optimization, and activities profile-building.
Outcome: a clear academic and extracurricular direction, aligned early with post-secondary or recruitment timelines.

Where the plan becomes a competitive advantage.
Every engagement starts with a working assessment of where the student stands — academically, athletically where relevant, and in overall readiness — before choosing a track.
